Knitting in 2011

I use Knitmeter.com to keep track of how much I knit on various garments. I usually don't update my projects there until I finish a skein of yarn (for multi-skein projects) or until I finish a garment (for single skein projects). On Saturday evening, Knitmeter informed me that in 2011 I had knit 24,788 yards. That's 14.1 miles! A pretty productive year, I'd say.

I'm making knitting plans for 2012. So far, I plan to knit 12 shawls (but only 12), at least one sweater, and several pairs of socks. The sweater will be mine. So will a pair or two of socks, and probably a few of the shawls. The rest will undoubtedly be Christmas and birthday presents.

What are your knitting plans for 2012?

  1. Wow, I can't wait to see you knit up 12 shawls! With two small children along with being a tenure-track faculty member, my goal for 2012 is to finish at least 6 knitting or crochet projects. Under the circumstances, that is probably all I can manage. ;)

  2. My goal last year was to knit 11 shawls, and I finished with 24 of them. But I knit mostly shawls and socks. This year, 12 shawls, several pair of socks, and two sweaters are my goal. Time will tell if I'm able to achieve that goal.

  3. I think setting realistic goals and trying to achieve them is the important thing. It gives us something to aspire toward.
